    👉 1950s Fashion Sketches

The antique shop “La Fiera di Sinigaglia” is exhibiting eight original sketches commissioned from Memè Olivi by the Galtrucco firm in the 1950s. Large in format (70×50 cm), they are executed in India ink, watercolor, and tempera.

The display windows of the Galtrucco shop in Milan’s Piazza Duomo were conceived as genuine art exhibitions. These beautiful fashion illustrations served to suggest to customers the styles that could be created using the fabrics displayed in the windows and sold in the store.

The Galtrucco archive has published *Bozzetti* (Corsiero Editore), a volume reproducing around a hundred of these famous fashion sketches, including more than fifty created by Memè Olivi.
